COUNCILMAN BOB BEERS TO WELCOME DRI VOLUNTEERS AT VETERANS VILLAGE
NEW YORK – February 17 — DRI International (‘DRI’), the world’s leading business continuity and disaster recovery training organization, is pleased to announce that Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman has issued an official proclamation that February 25, 2017 will be ‘DRI Foundation Day’ in recognition of DRI Foundation’s annual Volunteer Day held during the DRI Annual Conference. Bob Beers, Las Vegas City Councilman, Ward 2, will be on hand to welcome volunteers and read the proclamation.
“DRI is honored to receive this recognition and thankful for having a dedicated staff and community of volunteers committed to expanding the reach and impact of the Foundation’s mission to promote resilient communities worldwide,” said AnneMarie Staley, DRI Foundation Chair. “We’re very grateful to Mayor Goodman for recognizing our efforts.”
The proclamation was issued to demonstrate the city’s appreciation for volunteers who choose to make a difference in the community. Councilman Beers will visit the Veterans Village #2 at the 50 N. 21st Street location on DRI Foundation Day in support of the DRI Foundation’s efforts.
“We are especially pleased to be able to support veterans here in Las Vegas,” said Al Berman, DRI president. “I see this as an extension of our overall commitment to veterans, which includes our Veterans Outreach Program which provides scholarships to help veterans transition into the professions of emergency response, crisis management, business continuity and disaster recovery.”

Each year, DRI International hosts an annual conference for business continuity and resilience professionals. This year, the DRI Annual Conference, DRI2017, will be taking place in Las Vegas at the Golden Nugget. An integral part of this conference is an opportunity for professionals to give back directly to the community by playing an active role in Volunteer Day. As part of DRI2017, the DRI Foundation is mobilizing and coordinating its network of volunteers and resources to hold Volunteer Day to help local area nonprofits. Volunteers will have the opportunity to directly assist two amazing organizations in Las Vegas: Veterans Village, a transitional and permanent housing residence for U.S. veterans and Three Square, a food bank dedicated to providing wholesome food to hungry people while passionately pursuing a hunger-free community.
