Update: DRI Foundation’s Partnership With Habitat for Humanity Philippines

DRI2014 booth video_KR041714After Typhoon Haiyan-Yolanda tore through the Philippines in November 2013, the DRI Foundation teamed up with Habitat for Humanity Philippines (HFHP) to help rebuild the lives of those affected. The process is long and arduous, but work is now underway: 98 core homes are under construction, and 9 have been completed!

HBHP has also partnered with the National Housing Authority, who has agreed to match the numbers of houses HFHP will build. Other local government units have also committed to develop location sites for houses to be built.

But there’s much more work to be done. In fact, 85% of the houses still need funds raised in order to achieve the 30,000 target, and move families still housed in tents and makeshift homes into true houses.
